Support our Hurricane Irma Recovery Effort on Go Fund Me
You are what you eat. Support your local Food Source by participating in rebuilding our family owned, certified organic farm that for over 20 years has been our sole income and jobs for local labor.
Irma’s destruction is more than we can handle on our own. We have reached out to all available resources and reached a “dead end”. We’re facing over 80 tropical fruit trees down, at a cost of $1000 each. The majority of the tree loss is with our Lychees, Avocados, Mangos and Carambolas
Our 12 shade houses where our Micro Greens are grown, were damaged (frames, and irrigation) by falling trees. To rebuild would cost about $1500 each. In addition 6 other work area frames were also destroyed and will cost approximately $500 each to rebuild.
In addition, our raised beds that have our edible flowers, herbs and vegetables need to be cleared of broken limbs and debris. Irrigation has been destroyed in most of the beds and needs replacing. This would allow us to bring our production up to pre-Irma amounts, at least an increase of 50 percent.
Thank you for your support.

Over 100 Diverse, Organically Grown Crops
Flavors that you have to taste to believe

All About Tropical Delights
We are a small, family owned Certified Organic farm called Elfin Acres Organic Farm, Inc. We have been doing business as Tropical Delights since 1996. We sell and personally deliver only our own products under the Tropical Delights label. You can be assured it was grown with the knowledge and care that only Andres Mejides can provide (teaching and lecturing on organic horticulture for over 25 years), organic gardener for over 50 years and Farm Aid’s only Hero Farmer in the South Florida Area.
We have over 100 diverse crops organically grown, and we test new varieties for Organic Gardening Magazine (check out Andres’ reports for South Florida at OrganicGardening.com).
We take pride in knowing that we sell only the fruits of our labors and use local workers to maintain our standards at the highest levels. By providing a stable work environment, everyone reaps the benefits of a better product, a longer shelf life, flavors that have to be taste to be believed and help our local economy.
